DESCRIPTION:Introductory sessions\, offered monthly\, are the perfect way to get your hands dirty\, relax\, and have fun! Learn the basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel. If you successfully create a bowl\, staff will glaze and fire it after the class is completed—all included in the price of the class. If you’d like to take the piece home with you\, you can come back and pick it up. \nIntroductory sessions last 60 minutes and cost $75. This fee includes everything needed for the class (including clay\, glaze\, and firing services). With this talk directly pertaining to the exhibition description below\, this is something you do not want to miss!\n\nThis exhibit celebrates the 85th anniversary of HMC Architects and is focused on a select group of non-residential buildings in the Pomona Valley. The importance of this firm for the built environment of the region is shown through photographs drawn from their extensive archive which have never before been seen by the public.  HMC developed a streamlined\, modernist architectural vocabulary of both elegance and utility.  A selection of these photographs was taken by noted photographer Julius Shulman.

Well\, Broadway’s Next Hit Musical is…The PHONY Awards! The audience members write down made up song titles and our master improvisers gather these suggestions and present them as “nominated songs” for this coveted award. We create spontaneous scenes and songs filled with great dancing\, catchy melodies\, and tons of laughter. The audience votes for their favorite song and watches as the cast turns that song into a full-blown improvised musical – complete with memorable characters\, witty dialogue\, and plot twists galore. BNHM has been seen recently throughout the United States and in New York City at The Triad Theater\, The Tribeca Film Festival\, and at The New York Musical Theater Festival\, among many other locations. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Ceramics from the State University of New York at Potsdam and recently completed her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Indiana University. Originally from Santo Domingo\, Dominican Republic\, Michelle relocated to New York with her family when she was fifteen. Her artwork serves as a testament to the diverse tapestry of Dominican heritage\, blending Taino\, African\, and Spanish influences. Solorzano has been in residence at AMOCA from August 2024–July 2025. \nLearn more at Solorzano’s website. \n\nAMOCA’s Residency Program\nAMOCA’s Artist in Residence Program\, established in 2012\, is one of the few long-term fellowship opportunities for ceramic artists on the West Coast. This residency provides artists an opportunity to produce or develop a new body of work. The program is funded through generous support from Julianne and David Armstrong\, Laguna Clay\, and the Windgate Foundation. Since 2022\, thanks to enhanced support from the Windgate Foundation\, additional short-term residencies are available for artists based in Southern California.
