SUMMARY:Coppélia – IPB Academy Spring Recital
DESCRIPTION:2 Performances: June 1 & 2 at 3:00pm\n\n\n \nInland Pacific Ballet Academy’s 2024 Spring Recital ballet is adapted from a story by E.T.A. Hoffman\, author of The Nutcracker. \nDr. Coppélius has a magical toy shop and builds a life-size dancing doll\, Coppélia. It is so lifelike that Franz\, a village youth\, becomes infatuated with it\, until his sweetheart saves him by cleverly revealing the truth. \nIPBA’s annual Spring Recital presents a classic story ballet performed entirely by students from Pre-Ballet to Level 6. \nThere are many “firsts” for recital students each year. It can be a dancer’s first time on stage\, first time wearing a tutu\, first time performing on pointe\, dancing a solo or dancing a principal role. Mostly\, it is a joyful celebration of all of the hard work and dedication the students — and families — have accomplished throughout the year and a chance for IPBA students to shine and share their art with family\, friends and the community. \nAudiences enjoy attending each year to watch young talent develop and grow up through the IPB Academy ranks. Many of Inland Pacific Ballet’s professional Company dancers grew up through the IPB Academy and gained valuable performing experience in the annual recital\, where dancers gain experience in roles that groom them for the challenges they will face as professionals as well as valuable life skills through being part of a performing group.

SUMMARY:Seussical - Valverde Stage Production Inc.
DESCRIPTION:August 3 – August 11\, 2024 \nNow one of the most performed shows in America\, Seussical is a fantastical\, magical\, musical extravaganza! Tony winners\, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff\, My Favorite Year\, Once on This Island\, Ragtime)\, have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters\, including Horton the Elephant\, The Cat in the Hat\, Gertrude McFuzz\, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. \n\nThe Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton\, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos\, including Jojo\, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers\, but he must guard an abandoned egg\, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule\, danger\, kidnapping and a trial\, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately\, the powers of friendship\, loyalty\, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. \nThanks to generous support from the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation\, we are offering youth tickets (for children 12 and under) $7.50 off the regular price! Every person\, regardless of age\, needs a ticket to attend a performance at the Lewis Family Playhouse. Children must be able to sit independently in their own seat for the duration of the show. Babes in arms are not permitted.
