SUMMARY:James and the Giant Peach
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Valverde Stage Productions Inc. \nRoald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach is now a Theatre for Young Audiences musical for the whole family to enjoy! Featuring a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony Award-nominated team of Pasek and Paul (Dogfight and A Christmas Story the Musical) and a curiously quirky book by Timothy Allen McDonald (Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka\, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley)\, critics rave: James and the Giant Peach is a “masterpeach!” \nWhen James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree\, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach… and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly\, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach\, among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities\, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean\, the group faces hunger\, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James’ quick wit and creative thinking\, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success\, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building. \nThis production of James and the Giant Peach is the 60-minute Theatre for Young Audiences version\, suitable for all ages!

SUMMARY:The Improvised Shakespeare Company®
DESCRIPTION:A fully improvised Shakespearean masterpiece comes to life right before your eyes. All of the dialogue is said for the first time\, the characters are created as you watch\, and if you’re wondering where the story is going…so are they! \nThe Improvised Shakespeare Company® is one of the most critically-acclaimed improv troupes in the world. It was founded in Chicago in 2005 where its hit show\, Improvised Shakespeare Chicago℠ still runs today. The ISC also performs regularly at The Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles for audiences that are “Beatlemaniacal” (LA Times). It has been featured at the Kennedy Center\, 92nd St Y\, Bonnaroo\, San Francisco Sketchfest\, Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival\, Sun Valley Writers’ Conference\, and the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal and Chicago. It plays frequently at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts where The ISC has performed nearly 300 performances including a 178-show residency as part of the DCPA’s Broadway Series. It also makes appearances in New York where it “plays to packed theaters with an atmosphere more like a rock club than a repertory house” (The New York Times). The ISC has been named Chicago’s best improv group by both the Chicago Reader and the Chicago Examiner and has received numerous awards in LA (Best of LA-LA Weekly)\, New York (Best Comedic Group-New York Nightlife Awards)\, Chicago (Chicago Improv Foundation) and more. \nEach performance is a one-night-only creation that is epic\, hilarious\, and fleeting\, proving that even in the modern age\, the spirit of Shakespeare thrives in the thrill of spontaneity.

SUMMARY:Fastball
DESCRIPTION:Formed in Austin\, Texas\, Fastball rose to prominence in 1998 with the release of All the Pain Money Can Buy. The album went platinum and produced the breakout hit “The Way\,” a chart-topping single that earned Grammy nominations and became a defining track of late ‘90s alternative rock. \nFollow-up singles including “Out of My Head” and “Fire Escape” further established the band’s place on radio and on tour\, with a sound that blended melodic hooks and straightforward\, guitar-driven rock. \nOver the years\, Fastball has continued to record and perform\, maintaining a steady presence while staying true to the songwriting that first brought them success. Their live shows feature the songs audiences know\, delivered with the same energy that made them staples of the era.

SUMMARY:TAIKOPROJECT
DESCRIPTION:Founded in Los Angeles in 2000\, TAIKOPROJECT was created with the goal of shaping a contemporary American voice within the art of taiko. Drawing from traditional Japanese drumming\, the group has developed a performance style that combines powerful rhythms with original compositions and choreography. \nTheir breakthrough came in 2005 when they became the first American ensemble to win the Tokyo International Taiko Contest\, establishing them as a leading force in the global taiko community. Since then\, they have appeared on major stages including the Academy Awards\, the Grammy Awards\, and national television programs\, as well as collaborating with artists across genres. \nTAIKOPROJECT’s work is defined by its physicality and precision. Each performance blends music and movement into a tightly coordinated experience\, where rhythm drives both sound and motion. \nWith a balance of tradition and innovation\, TAIKOPROJECT continues to expand the boundaries of taiko\, offering audiences a performance that is both rooted in history and unmistakably contemporary.

SUMMARY:Alex Cuba
DESCRIPTION:At the heart of his ability to charm anything that breathes is Alex’s mastery of a deeper\, more important language\, he speaks joy. And it doesn’t matter if it’s Tito Puente joy or Stevie Wonder joy; it’s contagious. \nIt shines through songs he’s co-written with Nelly Furtado and Jason Mraz. It’s the north star of his compositions. Wherever his songs start their journey – in the land of passion\, deep affection\, or even melancholy – they know where they’re headed. Their path leads to a deep\, shimmering gladness that everyone wishes was their native tongue. \nIt’s this undeniable exuberance\, expressed with masterful musicianship that has catapulted Alex to the highest levels of global critical acclaim. It’s what led this fiercely independent artist to two Juno awards\, four Latin Grammys\, and a 2022 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. Just like his songs elicit “la-la-las” from audiences without a translator\, they woo critics without a middleman. The magic he makes with melody and rhythm can’t be held back. Because in the end\, whether in times of trouble or celebration\, people everywhere want to go where Alex’s songs are going to an unconditional sense of home\, belonging\, and bliss.
