In spring 2021, the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation launched their first Community Arts Grant Program, with a total of $26,100 awarded to six local arts organizations who presented plans for new arts groups, events, and instruction within the city. We are pleased to share more about the work of this local organization. Below is information about one of our grantee organizations. California Jazz Arts Society

The California Jazz Arts Society (CalJAS) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to preserve and promote jazz and other American art forms through public concerts, workshops and presentations.

CalJAS is starting its 18th year as an Alta Loma nonprofit. Formed in 2005, and primarily funded through honorary memberships, the jazz organization has now presented well over 1,000 CalJAS PRESENTS performances throughout So. Cal, including over 30 presentations at the Hollywood Magic Castle. Our intimate House Concert Series, has been featured in Rancho Cucamonga, Claremont, Upland, Long Beach, Westminster, and Agoura Hills. In addition to CalJAS PRESENTS, the organization also supports music education through scholarships, lessons, and performance experiences for students.

In 2021, with a grant support from the Rancho Cucamonga Community And Arts Foundation , CalJAS created The CalJAS SINGERS, a community based volunteer ensemble of mostly non-professional vocalists. CalJAS envisions this group to not only present community concerts, but also be available for community or private functions. Our first successful performance was held in December, and our next will be presented at the end of March. We are still welcoming new singers!
