Attention High School Graduating Seniors in the Arts!  Student Arts Scholarships are now open to apply!

The Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation is pleased to offer scholarships once again to Rancho Cucamonga resident high school seniors, graduating in the Spring of 2023 who are pursuing education in the arts. Scholarship applications will be accepted throughout the month of March and selected applicants will be notified in April 2023 of their award, to be presented at the RC Community Arts Festival on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Students’ applications with required documents must be received at the Foundation office listed below (not postmarked, but received) by the deadline of Monday, April 3, 2023.  Late applications will not be accepted.

Scholarship Amounts

$500 to $1,000 – Approximately five to ten scholarships will be awarded by the Foundation.

Minimum Criteria

A complete application packet must be submitted by 5 p.m. on April 3, 2023, which should include:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Personal Statement  – Please include how the scholarship will benefit you; share your arts background and future goals in the arts; include the college, university, or training program you anticipate attending in the fall, including your chosen major and minor. (Not to exceed 1,000 words.)
  • Two (2) Letters of recommendation, preferably from an instructor, director, counselor, mentor, etc. Letters from family members will not be considered.
  • Copy of current high school transcripts.
  • Visual Arts Students – Submit 3 examples (photos or photocopies) of artwork you created.

Student must be a graduating senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5 from either:

  • Alta Loma High School
  • Etiwanda High School
  • Los Osos High School
  • Rancho Cucamonga High School
  • United Christian Academy (Rancho Cucamonga)
  • Or any high school attended by a current Rancho Cucamonga resident

Student must be a participant in one of the following:

  • School music program (vocal)
  • School music program (instrumental- band, orchestra, etc.)
  • School dance program
  • School theatre program
  • School fine art program (ceramics, painting, drawing, photography, woodwork, mixed media, etc.)

(NOTE: Relatives of the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation Board Members are not eligible to apply.)

Application Review

The selection committee, comprised of members of the Community & Arts Foundation’s Board of Directors, will carefully review each student application and the required support materials, and make their final selection based on:

  • Number of years and involvement in stated arts discipline
  • Level of accomplishment in stated arts discipline in school or non-school programs
  • Overall passion for the arts and student’s plan to pursue the arts after high school (college or other training in the arts)
  • Student’s statement regarding how this scholarship would benefit them
