Kiss the Ground film screening

September 20, 2023 @ 12:00 pm 2:00 pm

Narrated and featuring Woody Harrelson, Kiss the Ground is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis.

Kiss the Ground reveals that, by regenerating the world’s soils, we can completely and rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems and create abundant food supplies. Using compelling graphics and visuals, along with striking NASA and NOAA footage, the film artfully illustrates how, by drawing down atmospheric carbon, soil is the missing piece of the climate puzzle.

After the film, we’ll also watch a short TEDtalk with Dr. Gabrielle Walker to present a counterpoint to the film. Dr. Gabrielle Walker is a leading voice on climate change and carbon removals globally. A founder of Rethinking Removals and CUR8, she works with the most impactful global actors to accelerate the development of the carbon removals industry. Professors Lisa Pitts (Chaffey College, Geography) and Douglas Kent (CalPoly Pomona, Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies) will facilitate a short discussion after the film. Presented collaboratively by the Wignall Museum, GEM, and the STEM ACC.
