BROOMS!: Traditional Broom Making

October 19 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm

Class Description

In this workshop you will learn how to make two styles of traditional brooms: the turkey tail & cobweb broom. Martin will show you the tools and techniques needed to make handmade brooms. Imbued with a modest style and a reverence for natural materials, these brooms will be the envy of house guests as they can also be used as functional display pieces. After taking this class you will never want to buy another plastic broom from the store ever again.

All supplies are included in the price and no experience is required. Some upper body and hand strength is required.

Martin Alexander is an interdisciplinary crafts person with an emphasis in technical skill mastery and conceptual art.
