The Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation is delighted to welcome Leslie Matamoros to our team as our new Arts Programs & Marketing Coordinator! Leslie will be handling RCCAAF’s School Arts Sponsorship, Student Arts Scholarship, and Community Arts Grant programs. The Foundation provides approximately $125,000 funding each year, distributed to our local schools, graduating students, and several arts organizations to support, increase, enhance arts and arts opportunities in our community.
With her extensive experience in marketing, Leslie will also be managing the Foundation’s social media accounts, RCCAAF’s monthly arts e-newsletter, and continue to generate valuable arts related content on our website to assist our community with accessing the arts and arts information.
Leslie is no newbie, rather she is widely known in the local arts community, serving in many notable roles including as Curator for the Ontario Museum of Art for several years, as a board member for The Arts Area, a member of the City of Rancho Cucamonga’s Public Art Committee, and she currently serves as the Education Director at the Sam and Afreda Maloof Foundation. She has over 20 years of experience in interpretive exhibit development and contemporary art installation. In 2005, she graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.A. in Studio Art. In May 2017, she graduated from Claremont Graduate University with a M.A. in Arts Management. Her goal is to foster the arts by partnering with local governments and nonprofit organizations and to increase the equitable access to and visibility of arts and culture in the Inland Empire.
“We were thrilled that Leslie was interested in working with our Foundation,” said Executive Director, Susan Sluka Kelly, “as she will bring her wealth of arts experience, marketing savvy, and creativity to our organization, which could always use fresh eyes and ideas as we continue to move forward.”
Leslie started working with RCCAAF in late September and has already brought new ideas and resources to the Foundation, which will strengthen and support our mission “to enrich our community by supporting, expanding & advancing arts and cultural opportunities.”
